I’m Elizabeth Onodera, a Los Angeles County native, author, and lifelong caregiver. My work reflects decades of caring for my mother, father, and brother, teaching me resilience, patience, and the importance of seeking support.
MY STORY
Caregiving has defined my life, revealing the power of advocacy and navigating complex medical systems. My mother’s ordeal after a cerebral hemorrhage and subsequent Parkinson’s, my father’s dementia and COVID-19 death, and my brother’s evolving schizoaffective disorder have shaped my understanding of mental health, aging, and the need for planning and support. I wrote this handbook to share practical resources and reassure others that they don’t have to face caregiving alone.
