A Little Story Behind the Author
Clara Blake’s journey to becoming an author wasn’t exactly plotted out like one of her favorite rom-coms—it was more like a series of plot twists with questionable love interests and a lot of self-discovery. Born to a Brazilian mother with a flair for storytelling and a British father who believed in the power of a well-timed joke, Clara grew up in a home where emotions ran deep and humor was a survival skill.
Her mother, a therapist from Rio de Janeiro, taught Clara early on that feelings weren’t something to fear—they were something to explore. That emotional fluency, paired with a bookshelf full of psychology books and a knack for turning heartbreak into punchlines, eventually led Clara to write stories that feel like a heart-to-heart with your funniest, most insightful friend.
Though she never set out to be a writer, Clara realized that her messy, beautiful experiences—and the wisdom she wrung from them—could help others feel a little less alone. And so, with a pen in one hand and an iced coffee in the other, she began crafting the kind of books she wished she’d had during her own healing journey.
