Beatriz Cartagena

She was born on January 18, 1953, in Puerto Rico, United States. At the age of 73, she decided to fulfill a long-held dream of over four decades: to write her first book, *My Childhood in the Neighborhood*, where she sincerely and courageously narrates the most significant moments of her early years.

With a solid academic background, she earned a master’s degree in Special Education and dedicated thirty years of her life to the noble work of teaching, serving as a teacher, consultant teacher, and supervisor in Fajardo, Puerto Rico.

Through her work, Beatriz seeks to inspire those who, at some point, have felt helpless or made mistakes, reminding them that life always offers second — and even third — chances, and that every experience, no matter how challenging, holds a valuable lesson.
