Bethany Zare is a professional French horn player in Symphony San Jose and the Monterey Symphony, as well as a union officer for the American Federation of Musicians based in San Francisco, California.
She got her love of colors and stars from her scientist father, a Stanford professor and love of music and advocacy from her mother. Her grandfather published two books under the pen name, Thorn Lee.
After graduating with a bachelor’s degree in music performance from the University of Southern California she spent eight years playing her horn in Mexico. , Bethany turned to painting and poetry after getting diagnosed with cancer 4 years ago.
Whether writing poetry, painting or horn playing, Bethany Zare is always dancing with her muse.
