With 27 years of experience as a clinical HIV pharmacist in Vancouver, Canada, including a decade on the front lines in the city’s Downtown Eastside, I developed practices in trauma-informed care and harm reduction. Working in the same community where Dr. Gabor Maté shaped his Compassionate Inquiry approach, I witnessed firsthand how connection and compassion can transform lives affected by trauma, addiction, and poverty.
Over time, I realized these same principles were missing in my own home. As I studied Conscious Parenting, I began to see how unresolved patterns from my childhood were impacting my relationship with my sensitive, strong-willed son. This realization inspired me to leave my pharmacy career and train with Dr. Shefali to become a Conscious Parenting and Life Coach, committed to helping others break intergenerational cycles.
Born in Toronto to Indonesian immigrant parents, I bring a culturally sensitive lens to my work, weaving Western psychological insight with Eastern spiritual wisdom, especially after reconnecting with my roots during a two-year sabbatical to my mother’s birthplace of Bali. It was there I experienced a profound spiritual awakening and began uncovering the collective traumas of colonization, oppression, discrimination, and racism that shaped my ancestral history.
I’m now in the process of writing my full memoir to share this healing journey—a path of identity, belonging, and transformation. I live in North Vancouver, where I’ve finally found a sense of home. Outside of my work, I find joy dancing to 90's house music, learning the djembe drum, and cold plunging in the ocean to awaken my mind-body-spirit connection!
