Sharon Lyn Henderson

Sharon Henderson is a native of Knoxville, Tennessee, growing up in the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains.

She had an early love for writing even as a pre-teen, keeping daily diaries, journals, and writing short stories and poems.

She has been retired for 20+ years after working several decades for the Federal Government at the Office of Personnel Management, Department of the Interior, and Social Security Office of Hearings and Appeals. She and her husband, Gary, have traveled worldwide to such exotic places as Tahiti, New Zealand, Australia, Ireland, Scotland, England, Mexico, etc. She has written several novels, sharing them only with close friends. She only recently joined the ranks of self-published authors when she enlisted her husband, Gary (author of “Memoirs of a Grunt, Vietnam 1968-1969), to help her navigate inside the labyrinth of the dark, mysterious, unknown place called "the Web." He guided her through the initial launching of "The Secret Hideaway,” a historical, fictional novella for teens to adults. Set in the Deep South in the early 1800s, it follows two 12-year-old girls growing up on a cotton plantation. Mary Smith is the daughter of the plantation owner, and Rosie is the daughter of one of the family's slaves. They are virtual strangers until something so extreme occurs that they are thrown together and must depend on each other in order to survive. The sequel, "The Secret Stowaways," is almost ready for release and continues the grand adventures of Rosie, Mary, and their dog, Skeeter.

In her spare time, she enjoys reading, writing, painting with watercolors (she designed and created both of her bookcovers), and playing with her precious furbabies, Lucy and Huey.
