I was born in Germany towards the end of World War Two and spent my first years in postwar Berlin. In 1948 the family moved to Ireland, where I grew up in a happy and sheltered home. After a thorough Anglo-Irish education in Alexandra School and College, I studied History and Political Science in Trinity College Dublin. For want of a better idea, I finished with a Diploma in Higher Education.

But I wasn't really keen on teaching, so I moved around for a while, spending nine exciting months in Israel, and then working in the famous Ballymaloe House Hotel for over a year, before landing as a secretary in University College Dublin. Bored by all of this, I moved to Germany in 1973 and finally took up teaching. Thirty-four rather humdrum years followed, but life blossomed again when I became a pensioner. My husband and I moved from congested Cologne to the idyllic country town of Brandenburg in the former East Germany, and we've never regretted our decision.

My writing career started a few years later, when I was already at an advanced age. I've completed one novel, but two more are planned to complete a trilogy of a family chronicle featuring my own family in disguise. Almost all of the events in my story really happened! I love writing, and I hope you'll enjoy my book(s) as much as I enjoy creating them.
