James D. Gamble II

James is a Florida-based writer, husband, and father of three who has never fully recovered from childhood questions like "but how does it actually work?" He lives somewhere between a thunderstorm and a server rack, surrounded by a wife who tolerates his tangents, three small children who treat the living room like a scientific experiment, a Boston Terrier with the stern disposition of a middle manager on his third cup of coffee, and a cat who has clearly been reviewing the household finances and finds them lacking.

By trade, he leads a team of systems engineers and has spent over two decades elbow deep in the guts of the technology landscape. Storage, virtualization, networks, applications, SaaS platforms, anything that hums, spins, or quietly judges you from a blinking rack in a closet, he's probably taken it apart and put it back together. He finds a strange and lasting joy in making complicated things behave, mostly so other people can get on with their day without noticing any of it happened.

When he's not untangling infrastructure, he's reading too many books at once, writing in the gaps between bedtime and midnight, fixing something around the house that almost certainly didn't need fixing, and trying to grow as a husband, father, friend, and believer. Community service keeps him honest, and he writes because the alternative is letting every half-formed thought evaporate before breakfast.
