Father Johan Storm is an Orthodox deacon and writer, devoted to the living transmission of the Christian faith through works deeply rooted in the great Tradition of the Church Fathers.
Founder of the Saint Silouan Fraternity – Hand of Mercy, he exercises his ministry within the Orthodox Patriarchate of Nations, under the omophorion of Bishop François of Bordeaux. For him, his ecclesial commitment and his vocation as a writer are inseparable: to write is a form of diakonia — a service rendered to those who seek a faith that is deep, incarnate, and firmly grounded.
After a long inner journey, shaped as much by trial as by grace, he now dedicates his time to a theological work that is both demanding and accessible: books that speak to the mind without abandoning the heart, faithful to the density of patristic thought without sacrificing its clarity.
His works are marked by sober and precise language, fidelity to the ancient sources — Basil of Caesarea, John Climacus, Isaac the Syrian, Silouan of Athos — and a constant attentiveness to doctrine that genuinely touches life.
He is the author of The Harmony of Angels, a treatise on Orthodox angelology, and The Creed – A Catechesis According to the Spirit and the Fathers. He is developing the series "Orthodoxy of France", dedicated to the singular spiritual vocation of France within the Orthodox Tradition, as well as a comprehensive Progressive Orthodox Catechism in multiple volumes, designed to accompany the catechumen's journey from first awakening to the threshold of contemplative life.
Residing in southwestern France, he holds together pastoral ministry, service to the most vulnerable, and the mission of a writer — convinced that, at their deepest level, these three callings are one.
