Khal Salem (Alkarkari)

Khal, a Canadian consultant physician born in Egypt, has lived in the U.S. and Canada for over half his life. A distinguished physician in Canada, he specializes in internal medicine and is passionate about cardiology. He is a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and has previously held the American Board of Internal Medicine certification. Khal has held academic roles at McMaster University and the Northern Ontario School of Medicine. He holds a master's degree in health administration from the University of Regina. Since adolescence, he has sought truth and ultimately discovered the Sufi path of the Tariqa Karkariya, traveling to Morocco to meet his guru, Sheikh Muhammad Faouzi Alkarkari. This journey resulted in a profound Sufi experience that he wishes to share. Khal’s authorship interests include spirituality, mysticism, and Islamic Sufism.
