He has lived and worked across the Middle East, Africa, Asia, and Europe at country, regional, and headquarters levels within international NGOs, United Nations agencies, and the Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement. His leadership has been forged in the tension between urgency and empathy, policy and people, and the delicate balance between system demands and human realities.

Born in Syria and raised by the storms of the world, Ali is a global citizen grounded in the language of proximity. He writes not as an observer but as someone who has stood inside the system and often challenged it. His work fuses strategic insight with poetic honesty, asking difficult questions, building from first principles, and holding space for the contradictions that many choose to turn away from.
