Dr. Soe Lwin (Mandalay)

Dr. Soe Lwin, a medical doctor (University of Medicine, Mandalay, 1982), is the leading patron of the Visuddhimag Dhamma Laan Vipassanā Organization. After extensive study of Dhamma teachings from various revered Sayadawgyis and the Tipitaka, he began practical Vipassanā meditation in 2004 to gain experiential insight.

He started teaching Dhamma and Vipassanā principles in 2006, leading to the founding of the Visuddhimag Dhamma Laan Vipassanā Organization and meditation centers, including the main center in Pyin Oo Lwin (established 2015). Dr. Soe Lwin has authored over 90 Dhamma books and conducts numerous retreats, courses, and talks both in Myanmar and internationally (including online).

In recognition of his significant contributions to spreading the Buddha's teachings, he was awarded the title Mahāsaddhammajotikadhaja ("Eminent Banner Illuminating the True Dhamma") by the state in 2020.
