James Thomson

James stumbled into earth-based building in 2004, and has been covered in mud ever since. He's taught natural building construction techniques such as cob, strawbale, adobe, plasters, and floors to hundreds of students over 2 decades of work. James believes earthen floors are the perfect project for aspiring (or seasoned) natural builders, because they are versatile, forgiving, fun to make, and, well, beautiful too!

James hopes this book will inspire others to experiment with earth building, and bring a little mud inside!
