A marketing & sales executive by profession and a lifelong researcher of genealogy and forgotten history, Dave blends meticulous historical research with the emotional weight of personal legacy to bring forgotten stories to life. His writing is defined by its rich narrative style—equal parts Erik Larson and David McCullough—where truth is stranger, and often more stirring, than fiction.

Dave’s debut historical non-fiction work, A Cold November Mourning: The Doomed Rescue of the C.E. Trumbull, unearths a little-known maritime tragedy off the New England coast, told through the eyes of the heroic surfmen who risked all. His historical fiction novels, including Frozen Passage and They Built Something That Changed Everything, draw upon his own family’s history—Scots who braved transatlantic voyages in the early 1800s, and a grandfather who helped build America’s first jet engine in wartime secrecy.

Dave, a licensed USCG Captain, lives in the Chesapeake Bay region, where he sails his 41-foot sloop. When not writing or navigating the East Coast, he’s uncovering new chapters of the past—his own, and those that time nearly forgot.
