Kevin Bergin

As a now retired, young at heart man, my previous incarnations in life have taken many twists and turns, like anyone else’s. I am certainly unremarkable. Born to Irish parents, I was unusual in one respect, I was an only child almost unheard of in Irish families. This gave me a life where I could sit quietly in the corner, listening to all the stories.

I have vivid memories of my early childhood, going back as far as being in my pram, hitting the blue teddies strung above me. I remember having measles at the age of two and sleeping for three days. Everyone was concerned, but I simply slept through it all. These stories have stayed with me, as have many more, well into my later years.

I’ve always wanted to write, but time, money, and fate never allowed it. I sang in rock bands, wrote lyrics, and was always trying to find my niche in life. I’m hoping that now I have, with this first book of poetry and reflections emotional, romantic, and heartfelt.

This is me, still learning, still listening, still in the corner.
