Edward McBride

Edward McBride is a Glasgow-born author who divides his time between Toronto, Canada and Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. With a distinguished background spanning aerospace engineering and professional soccer coaching, McBride brings a rare combination of precision, discipline and passion to his storytelling.

Deeply affected by a Guardian article on the vast scale of Nazi art theft and profoundly moved by a personal visit to the Dachau Concentration Camp in Munich, McBride spent years immersed in the history of World War II and the masterpieces plundered from Jewish families across Europe.

Redeemers is the product of that journey. Driven by a singular theme of justice, it follows James McCarthy and an elite team of ex-Special Forces operatives as they race to recover Raphael's Portrait of a Young Man and return it to its rightful heirs. The series gives equal weight to its male and female characters, reflecting McBride's belief that justice belongs to everyone.
