Leland McCormick

I grew up in Dallas, Texas, served in the Navy in Norfolk, Virginia, did my BA in Albuquerque, New Mexico, matriculated to the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis for graduate work, taught for thirty-three years at Minnesota State University, Mankato (formerly Mankato State College), serving as chair of the Department of Sociology, Corrections, Anthropology, and Social Work for six of those years. Over the years, I taught a wide variety of courses including Introduction to sociology, criminology, penology, social deviance, social change, sociology of science, social theory, and sociology of religion, the area of my dissertation research (see Struck By the Holy Ghost on Amazon).

I retired in 2006 and spent ten years in San Antonio, Texas where I lived in an HOA community, something which I do not recommend.

In addition to my professional writing, I have been writing poetry since me teen-age years. Some of those efforts are published under the title The Secret Desire Club on Amazon)
