Rikki Teeters

Rikki Teeters is a UX Designer and AI Design leader at Amazon, whose work bridges creativity, technology, and mindfulness. She is the author of Conscious UX: Leading Human-Centered Design in the Age of AI, a groundbreaking handbook that guides design leaders in integrating empathy, ethics, and intention into the rapidly evolving world of intelligent systems. Through her writing and speaking, Rikki empowers designers to shape a future where technology uplifts humanity rather than diminishes it.

Beyond her leadership in UX, Rikki creates works of joy and calm for readers of all ages. Her Calm Coloring Book for Anxious Adults offers therapeutic tranquility through mindful art, while her whimsical children’s series Little Sausage Big World follows the adventures of Cody the Dachshund, reminding families everywhere of the power of imagination and kindness.

Born in a small town in Ohio, Rikki has carried her curiosity across the United States, living in vibrant cities such as Seattle, Portland, New York City, Washington, D.C., and Los Angeles. Along the way, she has collected stories, inspiration, and a deep appreciation for the little details that make each place feel like home, especially when shared with her pets.

By day, she is a seasoned UX design executive with over fifteen years of experience shaping human-centered digital experiences. By night (and early mornings with Cody), she channels her creativity into writing, illustrating, and envisioning more conscious ways of living with technology.

Today, Rikki lives in Seattle with her husband and their lovable trio: Cody the mini dachshund (the star of the show), a playful Goldendoodle, Nova, and an orange cat with plenty of opinions, Cedric. Whether designing responsible AI systems or writing bedtime stories, Rikki’s mission is the same: to bring warmth, connection, and a touch of wonder into the world.
