Uri J. Nachimson

Uri Jerzy Nachimson is an author and photographer known for his deeply researched historical novels. Born into a family with a poignant past, he has dedicated much of his writing to exploring themes of survival, identity, and history.

He has written 13 books, including Lilly's Album, which is particularly close to his heart. This novel was inspired by a family photo album belonging to his aunt Lilly, combined with interviews with his father—the only survivor of his family—who only spoke about his past shortly before his death at 93. His works often weave personal history with broader historical events, bringing forgotten or lesser-known stories to life.

His latest book, Deep Stains, is based on real events and follows the lives of three women who, for 50 years, gather in a Buenos Aires café to recall their past as 16-year-old girls in small Jewish villages in Poland. Their lives were forever altered when they fell victim to Zwi Migdal, a criminal organization that trafficked Jewish women to Argentina as sex slaves.

Nachimson has also written Isabella, a novel about Isabella Arkadevna Grinevskaya, the daughter of A.S. Friedberg. His research for this book led him to collaborate with a Russian historian and visit the Israeli National Library in Jerusalem.

Beyond writing, Nachimson is also a photographer, capturing moments and stories through his lens.
