Maria van Brackel

Maria van Brackel lives with her husband and three cats in the charming town of Dinslaken, located in the Lower Rhine region of Germany. Born in the early 1980s, she works as a public official and writes with heart and sincerity about topics that are deeply personal to her: life with lipedema, post-traumatic stress disorder, generalized anxiety disorder, fibromyalgia, and chronic pain. As the founder of the support group “Leben mit LiLy,” she understands the importance of community, empathy, and visibility.

Her books – creative coloring books for adults, honest guides, and touching romance novels – are meant to inspire courage, bring a smile, and show that it’s possible to find your own path, no matter the challenges. In her free time, she enjoys yoga, swimming, board games, and anything that allows her to be creative.
