Mr. John Michael Capozzi

Mr. Capozzi served in the military during the Vietnam war. He became an accomplished entrepreneur having successfully started and sold over 20 companies in his career.

Following discharge from the military, he initiated his career with American Airlines in operations and was promoted eight times in eight years leaving as a Director of Marketing in their corporate headquarters. He then joined a division of the Midland Bank Group as Vice President of Sales for their North American operating company. He was promoted five times over the next five years, leaving as their North American CEO. He served on their company board and the board of their Travelers Cheque division.

He also worked in government having been one of the organizers of The Presidents Summit for America’s Future which was formed by President George Bush (41) and chaired by Secretary Colin Powell. This effort then became America’s Promise, an organization dedicated to assisting high risk children. He has been mentoring inner city children for more than 30 years. During this period, he also worked with the Points of Light Foundation which was also chaired by President Bush.

He was one of the creators and funding sources of the Smoke Free Society Campaign with the U.S. Surgeon General. He then funded and formed Shape Up America with theU.S. Surgeon General and launched this national initiative at the White House with Hilary Clinton.

Mr. Capozzi has served for nine years on the Business School Board of Fairfield University, for two years on the board of the Enterprise Center at Yale University, and the board of Greens Farms Academy in Westport, CT., for six years. He also served on the Board of Operation Independence for the State of Israel for 14 years.

He has written ten books. One was given three awards for excellence. There are over 15 million copies of his hardcover and mini books in circulation. He has been a speaker at many events and colleges and has appeared on the Today Show. He was the youngest Eagle Scout in New York State history.

Mr. Capozzi has been a professional skier, tournament squash and tennis player, marathon runner, and avid golfer. He lives in Florida with his wife of 60 years.
