Jacob Sharp

Jacob Sharp is a six-year Army veteran who served in 2nd Battalion 503rd Infantry Regiment within the 173rd Airborne Brigade, as well as 1st Battalion 509th Infantry Regiment at the Army’s Joint Readiness Training Center.

After leaving the Army in 2016, he has worked as a park ranger, police officer, and investigator. Sharp holds a bachelor’s degree in international relations and a master’s degree in recreation administration from Western Kentucky University.

He is the second prize winner for Cannon Publishing’s 2025 High Caliber Award for writing and has contributed short stories and a boy’s adventure novel, "A Boy Against the Boxers" to Raconteur Press. His memoir, working title "Stand By: An American Paratrooper in Afghanistan and Beyond" will be available in U.S. markets in 2026 through publisher Savas Beatie.
