Floris M. Kleijne

Floris M. Kleijne, a native of the Dutch capital Amsterdam, has been writing speculative fiction for as long as he can remember. His stories, some of them award-winning, have previously appeared in the Writers of the Future anthologies, Leading Edge Magazine, Space & Time Magazine, Galaxy’s Edge, Reckoning, Little Blue Marble, and on Daily Science Fiction. He was the first ever Dutchman to win the Writers of the Future contest (with Meeting the Sculptor), as well as the first ever Dutchman to qualify for active membership of the Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers of America (SFWA).

In a parallel universe he can freely travel to, he is also the Dutch thriller writer Floris Kleijne. His debut novel Klaverblad (Cloverleaf) won the Schaduwprijs (Shadow Award) for best debut thriller in 2021. The sequel Kleinste kwaad (Lesser Evil, 2024) was nominated for the Zilveren Vleermuis (Silver Bat) for best thriller of 2024.

He currently resides in the Betuwe river district, with a wonderful wife, two cheerful sons, a tabby cat, and thousands of books.
