Isabel C. Botero, Ph.D. is the George E. and Mary Lee Fischer Chair in Family Entrepreneurship in the Department of Management and Entrepreneurship at the University of Louisville, Kentucky, USA. She is also an advisor at Generation 6 Family Enterprise Advisors and a Fulbright Scholar.
Dr. Botero serves as a Senior Research Fellow at IAE Business School in Argentina and is an Affiliated Researcher at the Centre for Family Entrepreneurship and Ownership at Jönköping University in Sweden. She holds an Advanced Certificate in Family Wealth Advising and is a Certified Exit Planning Advisor (CEPA).
Her research explores how business families prepare their next-generation members, with particular emphasis on strategic communication, governance structures, and the entrepreneurial orientation of family enterprises. Her scholarly work has been widely published in leading journals and books in the fields of family business, management, and communication.
Dr. Botero is an Associate Editor for the Journal of Family Business Strategy, a Fellow at the Family Firm Institute (FFI), and a past recipient of the FOBI Scholar distinction. She also serves on the board of IFERA – the International Family Enterprise Research Academy.
