With a Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology and a Master’s in Exercise Science and Health Promotion, Adaurie Stemshorn understands the power of resilience, connection, and belonging. A former Division 1 soccer player, Adaurie brings the same passion and dedication to her writing that she did to the field. Living on a 40-acre farm, she has experienced firsthand the extraordinary relationships that form between animals, inspiring her to publish the true story of Peawee the Peacock. She shares her home with her husband, their beloved pets, including three cats (Cappy, Bear, and Echo), their dog Moxie, and 35 chickens (all of whom have names). An active foster for her local animal rescue and an expectant mother, Adaurie hopes this heartfelt tale will inspire families navigating adoption, growing up different, single parenthood, or raising children who don’t quite fit the mold.
