Morgan J. Wells

I'm Morgan J. Wells, and my journey to writing this book started with a spectacular burnout.

After fifteen years of chasing success through multitasking, saying yes to everything, and wearing busyness like a badge of honor, I hit rock bottom. Falling asleep at my own birthday dinner after a 72-hour work marathon was my wake-up call.

This crisis forced me to question everything I thought I knew about productivity, success, and what makes work meaningful. My background in management consulting gave me a front-row seat to how organizations and individuals relate to time, attention, and value creation, but it was stepping away from that world that gave me the perspective to see what was missing.

These days, I split my time between writing, consulting with clients implementing depth principles, and continuing my own experiments in living differently. When I'm not working, you'll find me taking ridiculously long walks (my primary thinking method), making sourdough bread with varying degrees of success, and trying—often imperfectly—to practice what I preach about presence with my family in Philadelphia.

I have an MBA that taught me plenty about business metrics and very little about living well. This is my first published book, though my computer contains fragments of three others I started and abandoned before finally figuring out what I actually wanted to say.

I welcome hearing from readers, though in keeping with the principles in this book, I'm intentionally slow to respond to emails.
