Dr. Latson W Cockfield

I was brought up in Scranton, South Carolina, by my mother and four sisters. My name is Dr. Latson W. Cockfield. I went to school every other day because some of us were required to stay at home with our mother. As a result, my sister next to me would bring my schoolwork home. Following my graduation from high school, I joined the United States Navy and served for a period of four years. Upon completion of my service, I found a job selling life and health insurance for ten years, however, after selling insurance, I made the decision to enlist in the army reserve. But as I progressed through the ranks, I became aware that I would need additional knowledge, and as a result, I retired as a Master Sergeant (E8), and some my achievements were The Army Commendation medal, The Armed Forces Expeditionary medal, and the Instructor of Year medal. After the military I graduated from The American College of Financial Services, I earned the Chartered Life Underwriter and Chartered Financial Consultant in addition to a Master of Financial Services degree. I attended Morris College to earn my undergraduate degree In Organizational Management and developed a positive relationship with Dr. James Ibe, who was one of my professors, and the relationship with him as a student and as a professor was and still today very rewarding. Considering this, immediately after I graduated from Virginia University of Lynchburg with a Doctor of Healthcare Administration degree. We continued to communicate with one another, and eventually, he and I came to an agreement that we would collaborate on a book titled "The Essentials of Financial Planning."
