Prepping for the Rest of Us is my first book, though I've been writing for decades. The inspiration for this title is the increasing number of weather and natural disaster events across the US-and the globe-that require evacuation. In 2022 over 3.2 million Americans had to evacuate their homes for one of these events.

I assessed my own readiness and realized that I was totally unprepared to leave my home quickly with basic supplies and important documents and information.

Prepping and survival enthusiasts brought to my mind images of camo, eating what you can catch, living with no plumbing and being off the grid. There is quite a bit of literature written for this demographic, but the goal of Prepping for the Rest of Us is to provide simple proactive readiness information for the average citizen.
