Roger Hallam

Roger Hallam is a British writer, researcher and climate campaigner. He is a co-founder of Extinction Rebellion, Insulate Britain and Just Stop Oil, and has spent decades working on climate activism and civil resistance.

Formerly an organic farmer in Wales, Hallam later became a researcher at King’s College London, producing award-winning work on the psychology of mobilisation. He is the author of Common Sense for the 21st Century, named Tate Modern Book of the Month, and has been listed by the New Statesman among the UK’s most influential progressive figures.

In 2024, Hallam received a prison sentence for public advocacy of civil resistance and continues to write while incarcerated.
