After a career in technical writing and corporate and technical training, Nancy has recently had time to develop ideas that have been percolating in the back of her mind for years.

"Green Grass, Still Waters" was first imagined over 20 years ago. It is loosely based on her experiences as a child with her beloved cat, Petey, and incorporates the 23rd Psalm in the King James Version she loves, as well as her background in training and experiences as a Sunday School teacher.

The idea for "Maggie's Dream" came about during Covid, when her online art group’s assignment was to draw or paint a mythical creature. Nancy first thought of painting Pegasus, but decided that he just wasn’t quite mythical enough. Since she had been a fan of mules since seeing them compete at the Houston Livestock Show years before, she added crow wings to an image of a mule in mid-air, and came up with something even more mythical than Pegasus – a flying mule! After that, Maggie began to slowly come to life in her mind.
