Alan J. Speed

I was born in post-war London, amongst Hitler's bomb sites and educated at Salesian College Battersea. I read Social Sciences at Loughborough University, subsequently pursuing an accountancy career in Industry. Post-retirement, I spent fifteen years as a Magistrate in the South West London Local Justice Area.

Although I abandoned the Christian narrative years ago, my Roman Catholic upbringing made it difficult to shake off the importance of religion. Consequently, I studied the Historical Jesus, biblical archaeology, and the philosophy, anthropology, and archaeology of religion to form my own views.

Writing novels is a way of sharing the interesting and sometimes shocking things that I've found along the way. I hope my readers share my reactions.
