Michael Maurice Martinez is a children’s book author, educator, and lifelong storyteller who tends to see the world in little stories. He wrote his first children’s books over twenty years ago—fresh out of college and working as a journalist—but only recently found the tools and time to bring his stories to life. His debut, The Cooking Adventures of Little Chef, was inspired by a beloved family recipe and the warmth of his mother’s kitchen.
Today, Michael’s stories have deepened alongside his own spiritual journey, often exploring meaning, life-lessons, and the quiet magic of everyday moments. His writing is shaped by family, friends, and flashes of inspiration that strike while walking, traveling, or simply being present.
By day, Michael works with college students at an American university in Abu Dhabi, where he lives with his wife—also an educator and creative soul. Together, they find joy in faith, travel, and the art of living with intention. Whether writing picture books or working on his first novella, Michael continues to see storytelling as both a creative outlet and a way of making meaning in the world.
