Si Griffiths

Si Griffiths is a poet, writer and community organiser living in Machynlleth. Raised in Walsall, and from a working-class background, his poems, essays and short stories have appeared in Spelt, Lumpen, Icefloe Press, Sarai Reader, Unthology, Permaculture Magazine and Fusion Poets. He has an MA in Creative Writing from Bath Spa University, and his poem Sycamore Lungs came third in Wildfire Words, 2022 Every Breath competition, judged by Ben Ray.

He’s recently been a recipient of Literature Wales’ flagship professional development programme for under-represented writers, Representing Wales 2024-2025. His poem Hors D’Oeuvres has been nominated for the 2024 Pushcart Prize and he has poems forthcoming with Poetry Wales 60.3 | Spring 2025 | New Welsh Poets and Arachne Press’s Afonydd - Poems for Welsh Rivers anthology, edited by Sian Northey and Ness Owen.

He’s currently working on a hybrid work of creative non-fiction, The Deeper World Our Hearts Know to be True, which explores how Celtic rainforests, Welsh mythology, and working class identities can offer a new lens for climate collapse.
