Author John Jess has always been captivated by the written word. He revels in opening an enjoyable book and being instantly immersed in an exciting new world. While he enjoys countless genres, he is especially drawn to mysteries and thrillers—particularly those with a strong dose of action.

John’s latest creation, Private Investigator Max MacCallum, is motivated by the desire to give hope to the hopeless and a voice to the unheard. Like John, Max is idealistic and has a wild streak.

John lives in New York with his wonderful wife, two delightful children, a son and daughter, and his cream retriever, Otelo. By day, he draws inspiration as he explores the various boroughs. By night, he combats crime worldwide without ever leaving his desk.
