Emma Waddington

I am a Clinical Psychologist, Podcaster, Author and Founder of Us, a clinic and mental health community in Singapore comprising 20 clinicians.

I am both a British and Spanish national and have spent the last 20 years of clinical practice working with adults, couples, children and families using Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and other humanistic models, to help them overcome emotional difficulties such as anxiety, depression, sleep disorders, anger management and behavioural difficulties.

I grew up as a third culture kid, living in Brazil, Chile, Rome and Milan, Portugal and finally doing my university studies in London. I learned about how different humans can feel, think, see and live in this world, and indeed that there are endless ways of doing all four. I am passionate about helping people thrive, and so I apply my learnings to my clinical work, as well as my podcast and a series of children’s books I have co-authored with my colleague Dr. Chris McCurry. In April 2023, I launched a podcast called Life's Dirty Little Secrets with my delightful colleague and mentor, Dr. Chris McCurry, which discusses matters we often hide but that are inherently human issues and challenges we face in life as we move towards the life we want. Dr. McCurry and I have also co-authored seven children’s books designed to tackle children’s questions around the topics of health, identity, diversity, anxiety, sadness, anger, and divorce.
