He left his heart in Chicago and has moved to the US Southwest. Mountains and deserts beckon to him with the sharp lure of a cactus. At the same time, he feels the Windy City tugging at him. Though he sometimes pines for the frigid chill of a lakeside breeze, he succumbs to the embrace of the long days, and the longer thorns, of the desert country. What's he to do then, but take the longest thorn, and dip it into the deepest inkwell of his life, loves, losses and memmories... He has learned to live like an American and to think like a cowboy.
