Paolo Rui

Paolo Rui, artist and illustrator, studied painting and illustration at Brera Academy in Milan and at Art Center College of Design in Pasadena. He’s worked as an advertising and editorial illustrator for clients including Coca-Cola, Mercedes, and Nestlé. In 1995, he moved to Taiwan, creating children’s books for Grimm Press, including two on Leonardo da Vinci and Van Gogh, translated into multiple languages. He led the Association of Illustrators as President (2001) and co-founded the EIF - European Illustrators Forum, serving as President (2009-2011) and now on its Executive Board. He teaches at IED Milan, the International School of Comics, and Novalia Academy. He has won awards and exhibited in Italy, Taiwan, China, and more. He’s also founding member of the Leonardo da Vinci Foundation and Centro Studi Leonardeschi in Italy.

He has two dreams: flying an airship and going to Mars, possibly doing both things at the same time.
