Dr. Gregory James Tate is an educator, minister, and thought leader whose work focuses on the intersection of faith, family, and cultural engagement. With over a decade of experience in education and ministry, he is committed to addressing critical issues impacting the church and community, particularly the role of men in spiritual and family life.
He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communication and Media Studies from the University of Arizona and a Master of Divinity from Liberty University Seminary. Dr. Tate earned his Doctor of Ministry from George Fox University in partnership with Jakes Divinity School, where his research centered on leadership, conflict resolution, and the role of male presence within church and family systems.
Dr. Tate is the author of The Decline in Black Men’s Church Attendance, a work adapted from his doctoral research that examines the historical, cultural, and spiritual factors contributing to the disengagement of Black men from the church. His writing combines academic insight with practical application, offering a framework for understanding and addressing one of the most pressing challenges facing the modern church.
In addition to his writing, Dr. Tate is a dynamic speaker who has engaged audiences across the United States and internationally, delivering keynote presentations in Barbados, Pakistan, India, and Kenya. His work has also been referenced by Dr Jamal Bryant, further positioning him as an emerging voice in conversations around faith, leadership, and community transformation.
He and his wife, Maisha Tate, lead TeamTate Ministries, a platform dedicated to strengthening individuals, marriages, and communities through faith-centered teaching and engagement.
Dr. Tate resides in the Dallas, Texas area with his wife and their four children.
