Mildred Espinoza

Mildred Espinoza is a two-time Emmy Award-winning journalist raised in New York City. A respected media, image, communication, and leadership coach, she has been empowering and mentoring professionals, corporate leadership and nurses since 2020. In addition to her coaching work, she is a university professor in media and communications, an author, and a successful businesswoman. She pursued her education and established a distinguished career in the big apple in media as a journalist, television executive producer, and entrepreneur. She has been recognized for her contributions to sustainable tourism, she was awarded a silver medal by the United Nations Correspondents Association. In 2012, the Institute of Tourism of Guatemala (INGUAT) honored her as an Honorary Ambassador of Media and Communication abroad, acknowledging her dedication to promoting Guatemala’s image in the United States.

Espinoza's professional prestige has been recognized on platforms such as CNN en Español, MSNBC, and NBC/Telemundo, business magazines in the US and Central America, as well as by global entities like the Business and Professional Women (BPW), which is present in over 80 countries. This federation invited her to an international congress in Finland to share her knowledge and expertise on media, image and communication to help strengthen women-owned business

leadership at a global level. Additionally, she has been selected to participate in high-level public and private sector conferences in Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Panama, Taiwan, Egypt, Brazil and Japan where she has exchanged experiences on media, image, communication and tourism, contributing to economic growth.

Mildred Espinoza began her media career in 1997 in New York City, starting in the general market with WPIX, Channel 11, a primary station for the CW Television Network. Her journey continued at Crain Communications, where she contributed to Pensions & Investments and Investment News, and she also held a producer role at MSNBC and for Ron Insana at CNBC. In 2003, she shifted her focus to the Hispanic market, taking on the role of Executive Producer at NBC/Telemundo 47. In this

capacity, she oversaw Special Projects, which included health, business and education franchises, international documentaries, as well as coverage of major U.S. events like political conventions, elections, and commemorations of September 11, and the United Nations General Assembly. Mildred produced the Emmy-winning documentary "Guatemala, La Joya de Centro América"

("Guatemala, The Jewel of Central America"). As a content creator and entrepreneur, her work extended to creating content for various outlets, including Bloomberg Television, Fox News, Mega TV, CNN en Español, and radio station 93.1 FM in New York City.

Espinoza established Empowering Business Latin America (EBLA). Through EBLA Digital, she offers services that include media training, image, communication and leadership coaching, public relations and audiovisual content production. Her 25 years of experience enable her to support both corporate and academic sectors in United States and throughout Latin America. Espinoza participates in boards and is also a Professor of Journalism and Communication at the University ISTMO, she is also an International Motivational Speaker, and contributes to Hippo Hive, Healthcare Institute for Virtual Education, led by Hippo Technologies, a U.S., company.

Philanthropy is one of her greatest passions. Together with her husband, she dedicates her time to religious and non-profit organizations that support underprivileged children through educational initiatives. In recognition of her humanitarian efforts, she received an award from the MIR Foundation in the Dominican Republic and has also contributed to the REMAR Foundation in Guatemala. Espinoza completed her bachelor’s degree in communication sciences at New York University, an

institution that, along with the National Association of Hispanic Journalists in the United States, awarded her educational scholarships.
