Dr Caroline Heim

Dr. Caroline Heim is an award-winning theatre scholar, author, and global authority on the psychology of human relationships in performance and beyond. As an Associate Professor at Queensland University of Technology, she has published extensively, exploring the ways people connect in an era of increasing social isolation.

Her research is deeply rooted in empirical studies, having interviewed over 300 people worldwide on topics ranging from theatre audiences to the mental health of university students. Caroline’s work bridges the gap between academic insight and real-world application, making her books not just informative, but transformative.

Her latest book, "Resilient Relationships: Techniques for Surviving Hyper-Individualism, Social Isolation, and a Mental Health Crisis" (co-authored with psychiatrist Dr. Christian Heim), provides practical strategies to foster meaningful connections in a disconnected world.

Before entering academia, Caroline studied theatre and worked in New York, winning a Drama League award. Today, she is an international keynote speaker, sharing her expertise on relationships, theatre, and mental health.
