Being a curious adventurous young man I lived for some years as a foreigner in Europe working alongside illegal immigrants and hippies. Returning to Australia I wondered how the world really ticks. I studied the massive non-negotiable implications of world oil supply, computing technology and growing food the permaculture way.
I was raised in secure South Australia spending school holidays on a country farm near Port Lincoln. Impressed by the 60’s and 70’s amazing science fiction novels and their questioning thoughts on the future, I’m still puzzled by civilisation’s myths surrounding our future; we believe in economic growth in perpetuity and the assumption of eight billion people living happily on a planet with clearly declining resources as well as an increasingly turbulent climate the world over.
As a writer, I contributed to Breaking the Boundaries, a book on grass roots activists and am a long standing member of the Marion Writers Group where we wrote a number of anthologies. Earthly Threats is my first major novel.
Now retired, I love bike riding and ride regularly with sporty fast friends. I have ridden across Australia, both North to South and East to West. I have a passion for growing organic food and am involved in the local community garden and building community.
It would be fun and more than fun, to find a realistic path to a thriving living planet with a plan for civilisation to continue for a thousand years.
