Mac was raised on a farm in southern Ontario, Canada, closely connected to the Amish community. Although not identifying with them, his family felt accepted and part of this community.
Being one of ten children, introduced by his mother to others as "Number nine", he realized he had a passion for plants at an early age. This led him to spending his life fully entrenched in the pursuit of gardening.
A singer-song writer, musician, recording artist (CD entitled "Love Came Home"), published author, communicator and minister of religion, but the pilgrimage of being a gardener has brought him much delight!
He has been happily married forty plus years and along with his wife, Judy, is thrilled to be reaping an extended harvest of two children and now five grandchildren who he lovingly refers to as his four grandflowers and one oak tree!
Mac's hope is that you will find yourself on your own journey as this book encourages you to self-reflect. Failures can turn into triumphs, people you meet are usually sent for a purpose and it’s never too late to dream again and right any wrongs.
We all have a valuable story, or our own garden to plant seeds of destiny in!
As this book took Mac on a walk down his memory lane (with its many mishaps), he became even more thankful for the life lived, the family he has and the opportunities that still lie ahead. Whether it’s friends, colleagues, family or our faith, journeying life together is a treasure that we must hold dearly and embrace to the fullest.
So, grab a coffee(or tea), find a favourite chair and embark on your own adventure down memory lane as you read Mac’s thoughtfully written book, “A Gardener’s Pilgrimage”.
