Born and raised in Belgium, Cathy Olieslaeger started her career in global communications and enterprise sales in the United States right after college. She worked for Belgacom North America, Orange Business, Verizon Business, Agio Inc. and CyberSaint Security in the NY Metro area and North Carolina before becoming an independent cybersecurity consultant.
Cathy founded The Triangle Net LLC with the vision of a world where cybersecurity is embedded in society’s educational and organizational practices, where social equality and meritocracy are the norm, and where all misfits are given an opportunity to reach their full potential. The Mission of The Triangle Net is to make a large-scale and immediate impact on the cybersecurity talent gap through collaboration, structural change, social engagement, and early education. Her podcast, Journey into Cybersecurity, and book, Cybersecurity for Everyone, are products to help democratize, demystify and humanize cybersecurity.
Cathy enjoys volunteering and is also a founding board member of Tweens & Technology, a NC-based non-profit dedicated to early STEM, including cybersecurity, education.
She is an eternal student of everything cyber and enjoys reading all kinds of books. She absolutely loves and lives to travel with her two sons, family and friends and spend time with her labrador. Her motto is to live, love, matter.
