Jeena Murphy

Jeena’s completed four novels, but Rue de Paradis is the first novel she’s taken through to publication. Other publishing successes include short stories in three anthologies, along with plays and short stories in the New Zealand School Journal. She’s written and produced Insight and Spectrum documentaries for Radio New Zealand and co-won a Sir Julius Vogel award for the fan fiction documentary Renaldo: First Sheep on the Moon.

She also completed the Whitireia Polytechnic Post Graduate Diploma in Creative Writing.

Jeena lives on the Miramar Peninsula in Wellington, New Zealand where she reaps the rewards of the Predator Free movement, which brought back native birds into the capital city. Internationally, it’s the leading capital city to increase its biodiversity, beating the reverse trend in other countries.

‘Watching all the life we’ve helped return to our city fills me with hope that by working together we can solve our societal problems.’
