Ronald P. Morris

Ronald Morris has lived enough life to tell stories for years to come, and he's working on it.

A U.S. Air Force veteran, former classroom teacher, and retired school principal, Ron has spent decades collecting the kind of stories that don't fit neatly into a résumé. From the hallways of Texas public schools, where he learned that life happens, mistakes are how we grow, and nobody should take themselves too seriously, to the colorful streets of Mérida, Mexico, Ron has always been drawn to the fascinating, funny, and deeply human moments that most people walk right past. He and his wife of 34 years, Tammy, recently traded the warmth of Mexico for Omaha, Nebraska, to be closer to family.

Tammy is no stranger to service or the classroom herself. A fellow U.S. Air Force veteran and retired elementary teacher, she has been Ron's partner in their adventures every step of the way, along with their faithful companion Buddy.

His books reflect that curiosity. Whether he's guiding readers through travel in Mérida: Not a Guidebook, a Friend's Advice, taking families on adventure with the Parker series, or celebrating American history in his latest release The American Handbook, Ron writes the way he taught, with warmth, humor, and a deep respect for the people in the room. His favorite project, Dead Man’s Party: A Story of Life, Love, and Oingo Boingo, is a good read for anyone who dances to their own beat or whose life is wrapped between music, memory, and meaning.

Originally from Silver Spring, Maryland, Ron's journey took him from Arizona to California, to Italy, to Texas, and eventually south of the border before landing in Omaha, where his daughter Mary carries the family's love of education forward as a science teacher and a nationally recognized cosplay performer, because the Morris family has never done anything halfway.

With more than a dozen books and counting, Ron Morris writes for anyone who loves a great story, a good laugh, and the reminder that a life well-wandered is never wasted.
