RICHARD SCOTT SACKS is an award-winning novelist, writer, and US diplomat, a world traveler whose career placed him in the crosshairs of diplomacy and political consequence—crisscrossing conflict zones in Africa, the Middle East and the United States in his youth, then in Foreign Service postings to Congo-Zaire, Mexico, Morocco, Vietnam, South Korea, Panama, Pakistan and Washington DC.

World of Worlds: Stories From Four Continents follows Mr. Sacks’s debut novel, the prize-winning Drinking From the Stream (March 2025), which swept awards for political thriller, action/adventure and literary fiction, winning more than a dozen accolades.

Mr. Sacks holds master’s degrees from National War College and The Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS).

A Brandeis University grad and former newsman, Mr. Sacks wrote for The Miami Herald from Asunción, Paraguay; the Associated Press (Detroit, Michigan); and The Middlesex News (Framingham, Massachusetts).

His academic study with SAIS professor Riordan Roett, Paraguay: The Personalist Legacy, was named Outstanding Academic Book by Choice Magazine.

He, his wife, Aida, and their children live near Washington, DC.
