Born and raised in a small town in Mississippi, M.A. Mashburn has always been described as creative by those around her. Her love for creativity started when she was diagnosed at the age of 8 with Rasmussen Encephalitis, a neurological disease, and spent much of her childhood in the hospital. While being creative in her younger years, M.A. didn't discover her love for writing until her junior year of high school. Her love of writing persisted into her college years, encouraging her to publish.
Along with her love of writing, M.A. Mashburn is a dog mom of a rambunctious German Shepherd and proud owner of a lovely black cat. When she's not writing or taking care of her pets, she's reading or drinking exorbitant amounts of tea and coffee.
