Jackson M. Matos

Jackson M. Matos is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychology and Education at Mount Holyoke College. Dr. Matos is interested in the role of equality and liberation in learning communities, and his research focuses on social justice in education. His publications include work on the assets Latinx students, families, and communities bring to education, the strengths of transgender parenting and teaching, and social justice practices in classroom settings. He earned his Doctorate in Education with a concentration in Social Justice Education from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, and a Master of Arts in Teaching from Smith College. Dr. Matos holds a license from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts as an English Language Arts teacher for grades 5-12.
