Micheal Stone Ed.D

Dr. Michael Stone, born on May 10, 1977, in Marianna, Arkansas, is a highly accomplished education leader. Raised in the Brown's Addition community as one of nine children by his mother, his early experiences significantly shaped his educational journey, a story he recounts in his book, Arkansas Delta: An Experience That Shaped My Educational Journey. This foundation, coupled with a strong belief in the power of education, has propelled him to remarkable success.

Dr. Stone's career reflects a dedicated climb through the ranks of education administration. He currently serves as Superintendent of Schools, a position he has held since July 2022. His responsibilities are extensive, encompassing maintaining the district's financial health, overseeing student enrollment, planning major construction projects, supervising student services, and ensuring compliance with state regulations.

Prior to his current role, Dr. Stone served as the Executive Director of Student and Equity Services for the North Little Rock School District from 2013 to 2022. During this time, he led student enrollment processes, managed desegregation efforts, assisted with district boundary adjustments, and oversaw transportation for 70-80 bus routes daily. He also served on the Superintendent's Executive Team.

Dr. Stone's experience also includes a period as Director of Federal Programs for the North Little Rock School District (2012-2013), where he managed multi-million dollar budgets and ensured compliance with federal and state regulations. He also served as a College Adjunct Professor at Harding University (2010-2017), developing and teaching undergraduate courses.

From 2006 to 2011, Dr. Stone was Principal at Amboy Elementary, where he led the school out of school improvement status and fostered a technology-rich, parent-friendly environment. He also served as Assistant Principal at Seventh Street Elementary (2003-2006) and began his career as a Fourth Grade Teacher at Lakewood Elementary (2000-2003), earning Teacher of the Year awards for three consecutive years.

Dr. Stone's educational background is impressive, including a Doctorate in Education Leadership from Arkansas Tech University (2023), a Specialist of Education degree from the University of Central Arkansas (2013), a Master in Education Administration from Harding University (2000), and a Bachelor of Arts in Education from Harding University (1999). He is a proud graduate of Lee High School's class of 1995, where he graduated in the top of his class.

His accomplishments include presenting at conferences, organizing community events, serving on boards, representing Arkansas schools in Washington D.C., and receiving the Outstanding Alumni Educator Award from Harding University. He also served as the President of the North Little Rock Credit Union and is a current member of ASTA.

Dr. Stone is happily married and is a devoted father to three children: two he birthed and a niece whom he and his wife are raising.
