Punam Krishan

Dr Punam Krishan is an NHS GP, resident doctor on BBC Morning Live, award-winning author and mum of two.

Passionate about making health information accessible, she has become a trusted voice in women’s health, family wellbeing and children’s health education. Through her television work, writing and public speaking, she is known for translating complex medical topics into practical, reassuring advice that helps people feel informed and empowered.

Punam is the author of The Mother Load, a guide to women’s health through the many stages of motherhood, as well as several bestselling children’s health books including You and Your Body and The Superheroes First Aid Manual.

Born and raised in Scotland, Punam’s approach to health has been shaped by both her medical training and her Indian heritage. She is passionate about combining evidence-based medicine with a holistic understanding of wellbeing, helping people care for both body and mind.

When she’s not working as a GP, writing or filming, you’ll usually find her spending time with her family, walking her dog Simba, reading, travelling or enjoying a good cup of tea.
